A Hodge Podge of Random Pics

When I say random, I mean random! Here we go (Most of them are from my phone, so the quality is not very good):

1. My Lovely Outfit. When I was getting ready for bed the other night, I realized what a nice outfit this was. :)

2. Guitars Unplugged Last weekend, two of my roommates and I went to Guitars Unplugged on campus. It's a pretty big event here. A bunch of people play music on their guitars (imagine that!). It's awesome.

3. My Huge Print. My print is hanging in the Spori building this week!

4. Bannack Sunburn. When I went to Montana for my class a while back, I got a massive sunburn.

5. Cats. Recently, a few of us did service at an elderly lady's house. She had this in her house and I thought it was funny.

6. Rexburg Weather. Oh, the Rexburg weather. It's finally starting to warm-up here. It's been in the mid-70s for about a week now! The other day it was rainy in the morning, sunny in the afternoon, and then rainy again at night. A rainbow came out and I caught a quick snapshot of it.

Moments That Matter Most

I've been thinking about priorities, doing our best, and what matters the most today. The past few days I've been going, and going, and going, non-stop all day every day until late at night. I'm doing the best I can. There's just so much to do.Yesterday I had class until 5, came home and did some homework until 7 and then went to ward temple night. It ended up being 3 hours, since we had a chapel session beforehand. After that I came home, talked to my Mom for a bit, and then went to bed because I was soooo tired. Because of all of that, I didn't get an important assignment done that was due today. But, I know I did the right thing. I'm still going to pass my class, and in the long run it won't matter. I think sometimes we can be hard on ourselves when we're just doing the best we can. It's important to do the things that will matter in the long run, even if it means we don't get something that is semi-important to the here-and-now done. It's taken me a long time to get to this point, and I can't say I'm perfect with my priorities, but I'm getting better.

I love this Mormon Messages video that recently came out. Enjoy.

"Senior" Pics

I am designing my graduation announcement and needed some pictures for it. My roommate, who is also into photography, needed a picture for her mission papers. So, we had fun taking pictures of each other. I don't like having my picture taken, it feels awkward (I'd definitely rather be the one taking the picture!). But, here are some of the shots. I'm excited to make my announcement! I think it'll look more exciting than the pre-made announcements they sell in the bookstore. :)32 days until graduation (and a lot less school days)!

Fridayyy, Fridayyy, Fun, Fun, Fun.

Have you seen Rebecca Black's "Friday" music video on YouTube? If you haven't that's too bad, they pulled it today due to copyright issues. But, never fear, I've got a Friday song for you. Here's mullet man. This goes out to my roommate, Jen, who introduced me to it. (If you find this video weird, that's completely normal.)

Update on My Crazy Life

Life is busier than ever (but I love blogging, so I'm making time for it)! I've been grading papers, getting my large format print done (by the way, I chose #1 in the end. I'll post a picture of the final framed print sometime.), working on an 18-page photoshop photo book document, working on my senior project, writing some articles for a newsletter for my editing class (and, I was lucky enough to be appointed the project leader for 1/2 the class) and other homework of course. I've also been busy looking for and applying for internships. I have an interview at the end of the month (down in Utah), which is exciting. Hopefully there are more to come!

I've had some fun here and there. Last Tuesday was a completely crazy day, (my Tuesdays and Thursdays are horrible!) but my some of my roommates and I managed to pull-off a fun birthday get together for my roommate, Alyssa. I will post pictures and more details later.

What else is big around here is this crazy weather. I am so tired of it being chilly and WINDY. SO WINDY! I think it's absolutely wrong to have to wear a jacket in June, but I've had to for most of the month. :( I love summer and wish it would come. I am not going to miss the Idaho weather. At all.

Anyway, 36 days until graduation!!!!!!!!!! (I'm REALLY excited, can you tell?! Oh, by the way, I'm having some "Senior Pictures" taken and creating my own graduation announcements. I probably won't mail very many, but I will definitely post it on here.)

Quick! I Need Opinions!

#1

#2

This is the frame it will go in. I got it for 50% off!

I have to do a 24x36 print of one of my pictures (I've taken this semester) for my Digital Imaging class. This is a big (literally big) deal. It's huge! It's something I'm investing a lot of money in and something I'll have on my wall whereever I am for a long time, so I want it to be good. I can't decide which picture I want, so I'd like some opinions. Leave a comment ASAP (I have to print an 8x10 for Wednesday's class and the final is due on Friday) and let me know what you think. Thanks! By the way, those of you in Rexburg, my picture will be on display in the Spori building either next week or the week after.

Senior Project Plug

So, I have to do this senior project. 50 hours to be exact. It's a 1-credit class and our project is our entire grade. It's a big deal. Since I'm into PR, I'm doing some PR for my brother's company. It's called Utah Chair Rental. He and his wife started the business early last fall. They rent chairs, chair covers, sashes, tables, table cloths, etc for weddings and other events.

As part of my project, I am attempting to run their Facebook page and I started a Twitter page for them as well. I am trying to get publicity for them, so the more followers the better. If you would follow/like them on either or both of these sites, I will love you forever! It'd be much appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. If you are interested in their services, their website is: www.utahchairrental.com. Also, mention that you know me and you can get a nice discount. :)

Awesome Quote

I saw this quote today, and I absolutely LOVE it! It's something I need to be reminded of over and over again. I so much want to plan and have control over my life, but I need to let go of my plans sometimes and let the Lord take control so I can be happier in the long run.

Amazing Sunday!

I had an absolutely perfect, amazing Sunday yesterday. So much so that I wanted to tell y'all about it.

First, I went to church. Miraculously, I was able to walk to church (on campus) without a jacket! So nice! Church was good. It was actually my last Fast Sunday at BYU-Idaho. (I'll be at home the beginning of July for the holiday.) Weird.

After church I took a 2 1/2 hour nap. It was so nice! Especially since I haven't been sleeping well.

After my nap I made myself a nice dinner (chicken rolls).

I then went on campus and read my scriptures and wrote in my journal, while enjoying the sunshine and warmth. It was 80 degrees, which for Rexburg, is amazing. It hasn't been that nice since last year.

Yesterday was the first Sunday in ages that I wasn't traveling, didn't have a fireside, no visiting teaching/hometeaching appointments, etc. Sometimes Sundays get so crazy. It's nice to have a free one every so often.

Big Jud's = BIG Burgers!

On Friday night some friends and I went to Big Jud's in Archer, ID. It's about 15 minutes away from Rexburg. Big Jud's is famous around here. I've always heard people talk about it, but I hadn't been until a few weeks ago with a friend from one of my classes. Now that I've been, I can see why they're famous. They are known for their big burgers. They are huge! Big Jud's in Boise was actually featured on "Man vs. Food." (See below).

Four of us split a 1-pounder and some fries. Boy, was that enough to fill us up! We each had a quarter of the burger. I don't even want to know how much exercise it's going to take to make up for that.

Big Jud's has a "Wall of Fame." Those who were able to eat the whole 1-pounder are featured. Believe it or not, they even have burgers that are larger than the 1-pounder. And people have eatten them by themselves!!!

PR in the Church

Can I just say, I love the Church's Public Affairs department? They know how to do PR and do it well. I occasionally glance at the Newsroom site, newsroom.lds.org. I recently came across a statement about the "Book of Mormon" musical which is on broadway right now. Side note- from what I've read about the musical, I am not impressed. It bothers me a bit. But, I love what The Church states about it. The official statement is:

"The production may attempt to entertain audiences for an evening, but the Book of Mormon as a volume of scripture will change people's lives forever by bringing them closer to Christ." (can be found here)

Just wanted to share.
