Right after work on Friday I headed up to the land of potatoes. I stayed in Idaho Falls on Friday night with my former roommate, Jen. We had a blast. We had frozen yogurt at Kiwi Loco, walked around the temple and stayed up talking. The next morning she made me waffles and I went out to her backyard and met the family cows. :)
Then, I headed to the 'burg. Christi and I went to the bookstore and I bought a new BYU-Idaho shirt. We had lunch at Gator Jacks (really good sandwiches! I so wish they were here in Utah). That afternoon, Christi had a basketball game (she's in intramurals). I dropped her off at her practice and then stopped by and visited some of my former roommates. I didn't tell people I was coming, because I knew it was going to be a quick trip and I may not get to see everyone. It was so fun to see their surprised faces when I showed up!
I then went to Christi's game. Her team won. After that, Christi, her roommate Lindsay and I had dinner at "Da Pineapple Grill." (actual name). The food was pretty good.
Later that evening I was Christi's chauffeur around town. We went a few places.
Oh, I failed to mention... we stopped by Broulim's, one of two grocery stores in Rexburg, for old times sake. I heard they had expanded quite a bit and I wanted to see it. Didn't even recognize the place! Lol.
Saturday evening we just kind of chilled. I took pics of the Rexburg temple. We also ended up at "The Cocoa Bean," a popular dessert place in Rexburg. We got ultimate brownie ice cream and decided that it's possibly the best ice cream we've ever had.
This morning I went to church with Christi and her roommates. We came home, had lunch, and I took a short nap before heading home.
It was a really good weekend! I probably gained 20 lbs and I am so tired, but it was worth it!
Rexburg is pretty much the same. There are some new apartment complexes and a few little additions to campus, but really it felt like I never left (even though it's been 9 months since I was last there!).
I must say, I'm glad I'm done with school, but I do miss the awesome atmosphere of campus. It was fun to be back!
